my head

So most of you have seen my head. Some of you haven't. About 2 years ago I bumped it on an overhead door and it swelled up, when the swelling went down these two little bumps were left. Sabatious cysts is the medical term. About a month ago I hit my head in the same spot and an infection erupted. 2 weeks ago I had them cut open and drained. Earlier this week they started growing again and I went to the Doc today and he did the same procedure all over again, and told me that I needed to see a derm guy. I agreed that I should, but don't want to. I need these things healed. I have prayed, spoken to them, others have prayed, and nothing SEEMS to be changing. I am on 3 different meds and strongly dislike it. I have to wear a band aid on my head and it draws much unwanted attention and questions and stupid comments from people that should know better. So, I need a healing.

past time

One of my favorite pastimes is watering the grass. Just standing there spraying back and forth letting it all get soaked. I have done this since I have owned a home and even when I was younger. Call me wierd. So today Evan came and asked me in his sweetest little begging tone, "Can I go wash the grass, Please" So my 3 year old is out "washing the grass"

so you wanna talk about life group

Here is my take on it. (Cherith started this topic on her blog) IT'S not about me, and I am fine with that. About 6 months ago I realized that this life I live is not about me. It's about being a son and a servant. Life group is not about me or my house being clean or things in order. I think that we put these grand expectations on ourselves as life group leaders when in reality nobody really cares. Sounds like everyone keeps a messy house from time to time and everyone knows it. I think it is pretty funny to run around and make our house look like we live in it cleaned up 24/7. I like being real. If it is messy then so be it. I don't care what people think. yes, our homes should be inviting, but even when the floor isn't clean and the furniture dusted the Holy spirit will still show up and everything is going to be fine. I don't want to be a slob, but I get a kick out of people freekin out about how messy their house is when we visit or whatnot. As soon as you clean it up, it will be back the way it was in about 20 minutes if you have kids then 5 minutes. Especially for life group. I love life group and all our groupies. Ours may not be the best, or most structured, but I just fly by the seat of my pants all day at work, so why not at home too. (Mostly at work, because I run to and fro serving customers). I encourage all the LG leaders to relax its not about you. People really don't care if the table isn't dusted or the floor not vacuumed. Oh, and when we argue it's about getting everything just perfect for life group. sheeshh. My wife is great and I am not demoralizing her in any way, we are just different. Read her recent blog and you will see what I mean.

week in review

Wow! Another week at full speed. We took on a new account have been having doctor patients come by our office all week to get copies of their medical records. It is a nice money maker. The expenses keep piling up. Seems as we grow so does the outflow.
Still haven't found a pickup, that I want. I have searched and searched to the ends of the earth and their isn't one that is the right price AND everything I want. Maybe I am trying too hard. I can't make the desire go away no matter how hard I try.
Rachel is pregnant that is great news!
Today Payton and are going to the ranch to brand calves and bring Evan back home. We all miss him. He has been on the ranch all week.
See everyone Sunday! It's going to be fun!

shepherd

I took the test.
Your distinct personality, The Shepherd is to tend to your human flock. You understand the needs of those for whom you are responsible. Shepherds are vigilant and reliable. You realize your obligation and commitment to the well being of those entrusted to your care. Shepherds are very dependable. You engender a feeling of comfort and stability to those within your charge. On the positive side, Shepherds can be empathic, caring, understanding, practical and realistic. On the negative side, you may be manipulative, close-minded and sentimentally rigid. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

the little prophet

For the last 6 weeks or so Evan has been saying that on his next birthday he will be 6, and when he turns six he will have a little sister. Could he be right? He is missing it on his age, he's really 3, but the last part he has a 50-50 chance of being right.

BFW 2007

This weekend started about 3 weeks ago when I put the administration duties on my "to do" list. I was only going on the BFW to help Brandon look good, which I think I did according to him. It was a mere task on a long list of "more important" tasks. As flames began to arrive I was in full speed, about the only gear that I have, and checking people in, taking money, etc. I was having a good time, I was thriving in something that I do best, taking a task and making it run as efficient as possible.
So as men began to introduce themselves I could see that I was in for more than just accomplishing a check list. As men began to confess sins and things that they were repenting from during the cross service I began to realize that this was by no means "just a task". Men's lives were being transformed from death to life before my very eyes. Just as I had planned I was the last to nail to the cross, my list wasn't as long as some and I really felt out of place, because I don't have a testimony that is one of change from darkness to light. Somewhere between my seat and the cross stuff began to fall off with each step. Stuff I had swept under the rug, resentment of a few certain brothers, judgement of all the ones before me, me thinking wow I was never that bad. as a lay weeping at the cross I cried out to God to consume every fiber of my being, and he did. I have been repenting to people so much that it is becoming routine. Horrible attitudes that I have been publicly displaying, Resenting my closest friends because they aren't walking the same destiny in life as me. How stupid is that. I had judged God's blessing on their life, just because I wouldn't have blessed them that way, and why did they get that blessing before me, after all I haven't done those "horrible sins" that they have. God began to show me the cracks of wickedness in my heart. God showed me that people who are living a life of sin aren't doing that because that is what they want to do, they just haven't known the truth in such a way to be free. I don't think that there was one man their that Wanted to ditch his experience this weekend and go back to the way that they had been before. I have found my joy again and have laid down my own agenda. I want to serve each person in our body at KLF just like I was serving Jesus himself. God showed me that my attitude was a reflection of the arrogance that I had develped by thinking that I was overqualified to serve. What a wicked mindset. I don't know if anyone reads this silly blog anymore, but I want you to know that I love all of you, not just in my head, but in my heart. I want to make your experience enjoyable, refreshing, and easy each and every week. I sealed some life long friends this weekend, and it was by no means just another task on the ole check list. My next blog will be the experience I had with a burning fire within. I have been consumed with fire.

to the bat mobile, quick!

I feel like I have been a skirmish with the joker, picture in your head all the verbs that pop up on the cartoon as they fight. SMASH, BOOM, SPLAT, POOF. today I chased down a small pile of boxes halfway across the state. It took me 10 hours of road time to round up 45 boxes. That is okay, but driving is the last thing I want to do. I spent about 4 hours just listening to my thoughts and the humb of billies massive diesal engine. It was a nice change of pace, I feel like I am still driving. So now I missed a day of work and am still behind and have to leave work again for 1 and a half days for the BFW. I keep telling myself, "it's gonna be worth it, it will be worth it all...."
I did get a much needed date with my wife the other night thanks to my new community pal Joel. I just called him up and dumped the kids off and never thought twice about them. (actually my wife dropped them off) Had a nice dinner and a quick tour around the car lot for a viewing of my new pickup and then off to Michaels and the rest of the stores in line. It was good.
I love my job. it's fun to get up in the morning and do something enjoyable for the majority of my day. I have great employees and great customers, and great friends.

the fun never stops

I am running a marathon. This is the 3rd complete week of it. There is no end in site. It's a fun run, but a need a rest at some point, maybe when I am in heaven I will get a chance. Things are happening that I have dreamed of. They are now tangible, business is flooding in and there is no let up in site. I made it through the week with 50 hours at work with evan by my side for 40 of those hours, thanks to a great friend who watched him for 11 hours on Wednesday. Special members of my church family really showed me love this week by cleaning my house, laundry, dishes, watching my kids, and cooking meals for me while Rachel was getting a sought after dose of the Holy Spirit. Now we have to fill in for our coworker, at the other family business, who is in the hospital all week and maybe next week too. I have BFW projects to complete by Saturday and maybe Sunday I can rest. The ribs are still a bit sore, the bump on the head is down, and it's friday. Time to go campaign with Dustin Hawk for Mayor.
Next week promises even more distance in this marathon. A trip to New Braunfels for an account pickup and another new account here in town. It's fun serving in the Kingdom!
