I have had bad headaches the last few days. A long drive didn't help, I think it's stress, my back has been hurting too. I am out of town for the weekend relaxing. Please pray for me to relax and headaches to cease. It worked for Payton. He is feeling so much better. (see rachel's blg) Still a little bit of sore throat, but he has his energy back and the aching all over is gone. Thanks for being such a reliable family.
I kayaked on lytle lake.

Land of lakes
There is so much to be thankful for. Life, family, provision, abundance, friends with new babies, health, wealth, and on and on. Today I am thankful for Evan and Payton. I was getting home from work and plopped down on the couch, and told Evan that tomorrow we are going to Perdy's (my mom) house. He said that he hoped she didn't have her cows any more. I asked why, "Cause I don't like cows anymore, they bark too much, like this MOOOOOOHHHHH and scare me" I laughed out loud! It was good medicine for a long day at work.
Payton is a stud! At J's office today they had to take some blood and he was stone cold. I distracted him by playing thumb war and the nurse stuck him and he didn't even flinch. I asked him if it hurt and he said in a very causal and obviously annoyed that I even asked tone, "yah, it does" The nurse and I looked at each other in amazement. She confirmed his age and said that she had never had a 6 year old be so cool. I walked out with my chest out and proud of the stud I have for a son.
The hobby i posted about in previous blog is probably going to stick. Kayaking. Biking I have been doing is good for the legs, this is good for the arms.

new tool
Here is a great new tool from usps.com. I used it last week and didn't have one single return to sender piece. I sent out 48 cards, designed my own card with logo and all and they printed and shipped for like $50. The cards are super glossy and look really good. You can buy a list or create your own target list.

grind
this week was filled with fixing. I put on my grungy work clothes most of the week and played maintenance man. The only thing I didn't tackle was replacing 2 ballasts. I didn't have one sales call, but I did have 2 companies call me. We'll see how that goes, but I did a lot of sales stuff. I am working on redoing my website and had pictures with Becky done on Friday, I am also going to do some local advertising int he Abilene Biz magazine starting next month. Nothing exciting going on that I can see, just the same old daily grind. I will be getting out of town for the holiday weekend, and that can't come soon enough. I like getting away from the daily routine. I haven't been out of town overnight since hmmmmmmmm. I can't even remember, I guess since vacation in early June. Oh, I am doing something exciting this afternoon and if it turns out to be fun I will let you know. Maybe a new found hobby.

here today
The signs of the times are here today, in this day and hour. I get a kick out of the media reporting on hot temperatures in the summer and cold ones in the winter, and weather guys predicting a record breaking hurricane season for the last 2 years and not one has come ashore. The earth is crying out, labor pains. It's an exciting time, wars and rumors of wars, Strange weather, too much rain, not enough rain, tornados in NYC, Earthquakes in LA and Utah, ice caps melting, global warming. It's always interesting to get to my main source of news everyday, www.drudgereport.com and see what the world is talking about. Most of the time it's weather. I asked the Father this morning why the media is always reporting about the weather, and he said very clearly to me, "because it's about what I am doing I want people to see what is happening". Now there you have it, just like God to use the secular media and them not even know it. God has set things in motion and just like hanging the stars in the sky he has created the earth and it's ability to create climates and weather. I find the whole time period we live in very fascinating, it's not about saving the planet it's about saving souls and there are signs that we are running out of time. The world, aka media, would make us think that it's about saving the planet and animals, it's just like the enemy to pervert what God is doing. So what does all of this stuff mean. It should give us hope and encouragement everyday that we are closer to leaving this earth and it one day will be destroyed, but not by me driving my SUV.

Warning: Not intended for anyone in particular, just everyone in general
Some things have recently sparked one of my biggest soap boxes. Here is my biggest soap box of all time, and last night was revealed to me by the Holy Spirit one reason relationships are hard for me. Christians who don't KEEP YOUR WORD!. It seems that members of the body of Christ are the biggest liars on earth.
When you commit to something be it nursery duty, usher duty, or whatever. Keep your word.
When you commit to an event, keep your word.
When you say to someone "I love you" show them with actions other than on Sunday morning when we are asked to go and love on someone.
When you bid a job and to do it the right way you loose money, keep your word. When you borrow something from somebody, bring it back in better condition than you received it.
Don't ever justify your inability to keep your word by saying, "ah, they are so and so, they won't be offended, they will understand"
When you commit to watching somebody's kids, nothing in the world better can come up.
Don't every say "we should get together" and then never do it.
When you commit to a life group, you go every week, not matter how you feel.
When you do a job you do it better than the customer expects.
When you say I will be here or there at such and such time, be there. If you can't call and inform a superior.
When you commit to your kids to do something, do it. They know when you lie. Payton asked me last night if we could go bowling every Thursday. I told him that I couldn't make that commitment to him because it wasn't reasonable, He told me that if he could go every Thursday then he would get really good at it. He asked me why I didn't want him to get good. I explained to him that if I committed to it every week and then didn't do it he would think I was a Lier.
In my opinion the body of Christ is loosing credibility with the world, because we can't keep our word.
As pastor bryan asked the question, "when was the last time I told someone about Christ". Words don't mean anything unless you have a reputation of them meaning something. I haven't told anyone about Christ in Years, but I have told them plenty of times by simply doing what I say. No matter the cost. Period.
Every time the quesiton is posed I am condemned not matter if it comes with the side note of "don't be condemned". My dad always told me Actions speak louder than words.
This is rampant in our body. If we want to see God's Glory on a consistent basis we have to be people of our word. That Honors God, When and Where ever he is honored he shows up!
Nothing chaps me more in my business than to commit to a customer to have his order there by 3pm and it's not there by 3pm. In fact this is about one of the only times you will find me fuming mad. Don't commit unless you deliver. Thanks for reading this soap box. I hope it makes you think.
