why, why?
Picture this in a thought bubble. I have been pondering why since 5AM. Why do I go all week or weeks without seeing anyone or talking to anyone that I am in close relationship with. I guess I assume that they are okay or they would call me. Why is it that I see them on Sunday and that's it and usually get no true relationship interaction. My week most of the time consists of no meaningful conversations, no discussions about the Holy Spirit, no discussions about my spirit, no discussions about their spirit. Why do people ask me, "How's your wife"? Ahhhh pregnant. Most of the time my conversations are about the Biz. My biz is not my identity, yet why do most people just want to know, "how's the biz". Why does anyone not ask... why do I not ask... so, How's your spirit man. " Why do we ask, "how are you?" you meaning the flesh you. Why do I read blogs and blog? Is it because I am hungry for relationship and this is how our, "busy" lives have developed? I am not too busy, but it seems like everyone else is. I do the same thing as I did yesterday. Go to the office and work. I need someone to sharpen me, spiritually. Blogs don't do it. I need someone to laugh with, Blogs, don't do it. I need someone to ask me, " how is your spirit today?" Words on a page don't do it. I need a regular weekly "get together." Do I have more blog readers than I think and so people assume that we are being relational because they read this? Why are we so afraid to ask the hard questions? How's your marriage? How are your finances? How is your relationship with Jesus? Why am I just as guilty as the next guy? Why do I not know what to do or say when a friend needs me at a rough time in life? Why do I feel like I am the only one who is starving for true relationship. Why do I feel the need to post this on my blog?

adventure
I just got back to the office from a 10 hour absence. (8 hours yesterday and 2 today)Evan and I took the day off yesterday and traveled to Wheeler County to pick-up and move a deer stand that a friend of mine gave me. The adventure took all day. We left Abilene at 8AM and had the deer stand moved and in position at 8pm. It took about 4 hours longer than I anticipated so we spent the night. We watched the sun set with a cool 60 degree temp. We left this morning bright and early at 6:15AM. Evan had a blast riding the tractor and 4-wheeler and hangin out with Purdy.
I lost my cell phone on the road while I stopped after Evan woke up to start his movie. I got about 4 miles down the road and wanted to use my calculator to see if I would be able to make it all the way to Abilene on this tank of gas. No Cell phone. I turned around and drove back to find in laying on the pavement. It was a great trip... out of the ordinary...change of pace... and a great adventure.

Huckabee 08
This is a must see video. There are no other Candidates that hold a candle to him. He is our man for 08'. I have done my homework on him and the other candidates, trust me. If Hillary or anyone else is elected I believe our daily life as we know it today will forever change, for the bad. He's not popular among beaurocrats... just watch the video... I even sent him some money. http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/225041.aspx

pain? what pain?
I realize this morning sitting at my desk that I don't have a pain in my upper back like I have had for the past 2 weeks. Yesterday was prayer at church and I put in my request on Sunday. I actually slept last night without any pain now that I think about it. I was uncomfortable, but not in pain. Now the back is sore. Thank you to all who have and continue to intercede for all the requests each week. Your faith works! Now we just need to see that creative miracle.

june 30th
On this date I received my last new account. the last day of the first half of the year. Since then the going has been drudgery. Everything seemed to dry up. Shortly before this I was impressed to pray for business owners at an encounter service. The first 6 months of the year were booming.... like a volcano eruption. I met all my goals for the year in the first 6 months, and they were pretty lofty. The daily work is high, the new boxes from current customers is high.
I ask myself if I should be content with the accounts that I have. Should I be content with the cash flow I am experiencing, it's not bad. All of the accounts I have gotten this year (7) Have been word of mouth, or out of the blue. I know of at least 20 more businesses in abilene that need my services. I have talked to them, and they are not dealing for one reason or another. Business is such a strange thing. well, I am off to the D.A.'s office to talk to him about a matter that I must take the stand for. Should be interesting. Hopefully they will plead out..........................
Friday: fountain coca cola classic and ritz peanut butter crackers. A tradition like none other.

eventful weekend end :(
Friday I picked up Blake to spend the night and go to the Clyde game with me and the boys, I got home to find a nice surprise. Two more game attenders to go with me. Nash and Bella, so the 6 of us piled in the car and went to the game. Couldn't find a place to sit so I stood the entire game. No good for the back. We stood next to the Bell that they ring when Clyde does something exciting. Evan ended up being the bell ringer for the night. he ate that up. Saturday worked on the prayer house all day. Saturday night went to party at ghattis. Sunday worked at church from 8 to 1 and then went home to get ready for usher cook out. Stayed up too late and got up too early. Monday came and went and I made it. I always do. Things got done, and some things didn't they will be there for tomorrow to do it all over again. I can't figure out why I dislike Monday so much. I feel more tired usually on Sunday night than I do on Friday night, maybe that's why.

clear
Sometimes one needs a little wisdom, and that is just what I have received thanks to your prayers. It is clear to me now, in light of my back pain and headaches I have become more aware of the things that I do that are uncomfortable to me. lifting heavy boxes is one, typing is another, Leaning on the arm rest in the car, doing monkey bars or chin-ups, or pushups, since my arm is 2 inches shorter than the other I have subconsciously learned to compensate. Typing is weird because I can't adjust my chair to the correct height. For one thing I have to always lean forward to see my screen being that it is about 4 ft away, and lean to the side to reach my keyboard on my desk. All that has changed. I can now lean back in my chair and type like a king. My monitor is squarely 2ft in front of my face and my keyboard is now installed under my desk with a slide drawer and my mouse is comfortably within reach. I can already tell a huge difference in my posture and the release of tension from my shoulder.
The other thing I have corrected is how I lift boxes, and will soon make a change to my armrest in the car. I think I will stay away from the monkey bars for now. :) I should post pictures of all of this so that you can see for yourself the difference, but for now just use your big imaginations.
On the funny side of life. Payton was in bed last night and he has been having a stuffy nose in the morning. He said to me scowling and frustrated "Dad, how come every time when it gets dark boogers get into my nose". Hmmm I said, I have never thought of that. I guess cause your not awake to blow them out. He was satisfied with the answer. Whewww!
I was waiting to get gas at HEB this morning and thought of something that no one in the world nows about me. Not even my wife. It's a Friday Tradition that I started with a co-worker about 10 years ago. I don't think anyone can guess what it is. It doesn't happen every Friday, but 8 out of 10 it does. Hint: 7 AM to 11PM

worst case?
The headache source has been found. It's not stress, it's my deformed shoulder that is causing my muscles in my back to tighten up. Since I don't have full range of motion of my right arm, the muscles that are not being used have become weak and my back muscles are compensating for this problem, cause knots and knife like pain in my back, and when it gets bad enough I get headaches and migraines. I went and had a masseuse do a deep tissue massage. She said I am one of the worst cases she has seen and my muscles felt like rubber bands. For 1.5 hours she worked on just my shoulder area, and this must have been some sort of torture, a couple of times I wanted to cry, It was extremely painful, but so worth it. She gave me some stretches to do to help this not get worse. I will have to go back once the bruises go away and get another treatment. I sleep on my right side and I will have to stop doing this. She said that it has taken many years to get to this point. So I need to figure out how to keep my weak muscles strong since I can't move my shoulder in the place so that they will get exercise. I feel so much better!

-end

The problem with weekends is that they end.

Chef is in and Tea is served.

Evan and his friend Claire at the KGB ranch in Texas Panhandle. We cooked out over open fire, roughed it in a tent, shot guns, road 4 wheelers, and ate hotdogs and oreos and coke for breakfast. After a long night friday, with a horrible headache and nausia, we headed out to the ranch. No Cell phones, radio, or internet. Just the big out doors.
