Why is unemployment at an historic low? (some has to do with his big spending habits, which in turn create jobs)

We have enjoyed the best economy in resent history, we have been spoiled, and now it seems that just a little bump in the stock market, and we cry that the sky is falling.

We could have a war torn country invaded with terrorists, and we could be fighting for our very existence, which we are, just not on our own soil.

I don't agree with everything Bush has done, but I am thankful for this man standing for something at all cost for the last 8 years. MY FREEDOM, and SECURITY. Thank you President Bush.

The Big Deer Hunt by Payton Laughlin

This weekend was jam packed full of hunting. It was Youth Weekend in Texas, so we ventured off to Wheeler to hunt on my parents ranch. Payton was so pumped he could hardly go to sleep. He was going to shoot a big buck.

I woke him up at 5:50AM. He didn't immediately jump up like I thought he might. We needed to be in the deer blind by 6:30. We left the house at 6:30 and were sitting down at 6:50. It was about a quarter mile walk through tall frozen grass. thirty degrees and not a breath of wind. It was the perfect conditions for a big buck.

After waiting patiently for about 30 minutes we finally have some action. 8 doe come to the feeder just as the sun is beginning to break. Payton was chomping at the bit to get a shot off. But wait, those are doe, he wants a buck. We had seen a nice little 6 point on our camera that we have set up near the feeder, that is the one we were waiting for. Waited and waited. The doe walked right in front of us about 20 yards from the blind and payton was begging me for a shot. I didn't let him. He had had enough by 8:00.

Evening hunt was much better, not near as cold. We sat down and immediately got action 8 more doe to the feeder. He was so excited to shoot a deer, but again I asked him if he was sure he didn't want to shoot a buck. He said, "I just want to shoot a dadgum deer dad, the bucks aren't going to come." I told him that the bucks would come if we just waited. He had had enough of the waiting just as the sun was setting at about 7:15. I was gathering up the gear to leave when out of the corner of my eye I see a huge deer and a nice set of antlers running to the feeder, chasing a doe. Payton readies his gun and we wait.... he was sighted in for 65 yards. The buck never came closer than 120 yards. Payton was so nervous I was coaching him on how to aim high, but he couldn't get a clear shot on the monster 8 point. He was leaving our view, and I tried to rattle him closer... (rattling deer horns together to similate a fight between two buck, attempting to lure another buck to the fight) It worked. He stopped in his tracks and began to slowly make his way towards us... then stopped... and walked away. But Wait! to the left I see an even bigger buck come running in, he jumped the fence and stopped looking straight at us. 10 point monster. He was ready for a fight, but payton could never get a clear shot off. Payton was extremely upset with me for not letting him shot the doe up close.

Sunday morning was his last chance for this weekend. The doe came in just like the morning before and they didn't ever stop. They were on to us, or something behind us. We could hear some noise behind us, it was cows. Payton took a shot at a doe while she was walking.... He missed. he said, "well dadgumit, I missed the darn thang." in his most redneck west texas accent ever.


We waited a few minutes and some turkeys came into range. I asked him if he wanted to shoot a turkey and he said, "hayk yas" Before I new it he had shot and killed a turkey from 50 yards away, right in the head. He couldn't have been more excited! I told him that I am 31 and have never shot a turkey. He said, "well, I am seven and I have shot a turkey." So he told everyone he saw that day that his dad had never shot a turkey and he is 31 and I have and I am 7.

This Article in the Wall Street Journal gives us insight into what Obama's real motives are, not what he is saying on the Stump. America will not be the same after 4 years of obama. We will get our "change", and it won't be a fun time to be an American.

I will sum up the article:

1. Health Care for all. A program similar to Medicare. Red tape, red tape, red tape. It sounds great, but when the government runs a program it is frustrating and health care will be limited ask Canadians. Thousands of jobs will be lost in the insurance industry, companies will go broke and you may even loose your life insurance policy. Your freedom of choice will be gone!

2. Taxes will go up up up. No more refund checks in April if you have been getting them at all. You get those becuase of the Bush tax cuts, which Obama will repeal. You will then have to pay in as much or more than you get back each year.

3. Judicial Nominees. We will see hundreds of judges retire in the next 4 years only to be replaced by super liberal, law writing, not law interpreting judges. This would mean abortion would be legalized in all 50 states. Gay Marriage legal, Gun rights abolished, School choice abolished, The pledge of Allegiance abolished, Ten commandments Gone from public view. Religious freedoms gone! and the list goes on and on.

We need McCain in the White House. I don't agree with everything he stands for, but he is righteous and believes in Freedom and the Right to Life.

Why is the media not doing it's job. I know I am really harping on this a lot, but It is a very serious matter. This man should not be this close to being elected president of USA. There is serious allegations that he is not even a US Citizen!!! Tell your family and friends not to vote for this ________.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings. The insurgent presidential candidate shifted further to the left last year in the run-up to the primaries, after ranking as the 16th- and 10th-most-liberal during his first two years in the Senate.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., the other front-runner in the Democratic presidential race, also shifted to the left last year. She ranked as the 16th-most-liberal senator in the 2007 ratings, a computer-assisted analysis that used 99 key Senate votes, selected by NJ reporters and editors, to place every senator on a liberal-to-conservative scale in each of three issue categories. In 2006, Clinton was the 32nd-most-liberal senator.

He has voted time and time again for partial birth abortion. and voted that a child should not receive medical care after an abortion

is unsuccesful.

Why anyone would want to follow a man that wants children dead is mind boggling to me. Who would vote for such unrighteous mind numbed individual. Bush's legacy is not the war or tax cuts or the lowest unemployment in recent history, or the robust economy we have seen since he took office, it's that he put 2 righteous men on the supreme court and over 300 other judges. We need more.

If people voted on one issue and one issue alone he wouldn't stand a chance. Stand up for the unborn and cast your vote for McCain/Palin.

What the %!*&

Most of you know that me and the hiring process don't jive.... and thus the un jiving continues. Good employees in West Texas and Abilene are few and far between.

In the last week I have interviewed 6 people. I have hired 2 and fired one and one quit. So I am back to zero. The one I hired didn't show up for work on my day off because he was "sick". So here is my policy on being "sick" Get your tail to work, if you are too sick to continue the boss will send your sick $#% home especially on your 2nd day of work. That just don't jive with the Boss!

Employee 2. Interview the guy. Really like the guy, he's ambitious, he's big and strong, He has really good references, he was about 90% of the characteristics that were on my list. He quits on day 2 because he is failing his last semester of college and must take extra study time to correct.

Sheesh!!! I feel like I have bad BO or the plague or something.

On a positive note: I sat down with my employee Tammy, and the 2nd new guy, and laid out some goals to finish the year strong. I want 9 new accounts in the next 2.5 months. The next day, yesterday, I got 3. Now you must understand that new accounts average about 1 new one per month. All 3 from yesterday were small, but they were out of the blue and I know God knows about some bigger ones that are out of the blue to come.

The right guy will come along. I have another interview set for Friday. This one looks really good. Single, college grad, ambitious, smart, and business minded.

I have been taking good care of the shoulder. Had rehab on Friday. and have a weekly set appointment for massage therapy. I really enjoy that! The rehab bites, but it does seem to help.

PS don't buy into the doom and gloom that we are in a recession. Check the facts. Unemployment is 6.1% it was over 11% in 92 when Clinton took office. It may be a bit slower but we are not receding, at least not yet. The media wants ratings, and to get that they have to have a big shock effect than the other guys on the other channel. and gas is down if you haven't noticed.... which maybe you have if you drive a car. :)

A day off!

Wow! I took a day off and man does it give me a boost. I took off with Gary C. and Doug R. To Lake Texhoma for a day of guided striper fishing. Now this is the way to fish. They give you the pole, bait the hook, and take the fish off the hook and clean the fish. All I had to do was show up and reel em in. I didn't catch as many as the other guys, but it was fun and I caught the biggest fish of my life. I also got caught by Gary's hook. Could have been really bad, but my giant hat blocked most of the momentum and the hook was barely in my skin, right under my chin.

Day's off should be mandatory every month!

I am sorry that my blog is been anything but uplifiting lately. This video should scare you into prayer and fasting for our nation. Persecution of christians is here in America people. We may not see it in our neck of the woods but it is coming if we don't intercede for our leaders. We need God fearing, righteous leaders at every level of government. time for activism

I am not usually one to partake in activism....but this last week has changed my mind. Congress passing the blank check bill to increase the national debt by 700 billion dollars in the blink of an eye. This will not fix the problem, only create others. The government should be closed for business. Capitalism is the answer to the issues at hand not a federal government hand out.

I am really thinking now that TX succeeding from the union isn't such a bad idea.

It's time to take action. Call your representatives and let them know how angry you are that the Federal government is taking over businesses. It's just the beginning of the snowball heading down the hill. Our freedom is at stake.

The Congress is essential giving Paulson a blank check to spend any amount he wants buying mortgages - including buying mortgages from his old firm Goldman - a clear conflict of interest at a minimum. He could even buy mortgages from himself if he set up a bank holding company and placed the mortgages into the newly formed company. The bill places no dollar limitation on total purchases. It only limits that $700 billion can be held at one time. They could purchase $10 trillion in mortgages or any amount for that matter. The bill also gives this power to Obama or McCain's future Treasury Secretary.

It is unbelievable that Pelosi got a special provision put in to benefit a firm in her district. Where is the outrage? Where is the media?

My representation Tom Tancredo voted for this bill. I will not be voting for him this November. He's a gutless coward. He also voted for one of the largest entitlement programs ever a few years ago. He later said he regretted it and that Bush induced him to do it by essentially offering close proximity to power with such things as flying on Airforce One. I give him credit for admitting his mistake and that he was seduced by power but I'm not really interested in excuses. I need correct votes.

Our country is insolvent. Our collective debt is at 365% of GDP and that doesn't include Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid future obligations which would push that debt level to roughly 700% of GDP.

Expect more bad news. Say no to all bailouts. Government intervention and bailouts will only exacerbate the problem just as it did in the Great Depression. Our only option is to default on the debt not refinance everything into US Treasuries.
